Bring the building information together
Provide the strata address, number and type of fireplaces, known faults and previous service reports. Identify whether the units, venting or related equipment involve common property and who can approve the work.
Agree on access and communication
Discuss appointment windows, key access, resident notices and how missed visits will be handled. Keep the contact person and emergency procedures clear for the day.
Know what the visit includes
Ask about the inspection and maintenance tasks for the specific appliances, the service record provided, and how any repairs or parts are quoted. A maintenance visit does not automatically cover every repair.
Keep a usable record
Retain equipment information, findings and follow-up recommendations. Report new symptoms promptly rather than waiting for the next scheduled visit.
