Did your living room feel cold this morning?
A frosty morning in the Fraser Valley is a useful reminder to get ready for colder evenings across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. If your gas fireplace has been sitting unused, now is a good time to find the last service record and arrange maintenance. You do not need to wait until it stops working on the evening you want it most.
A working flame is only part of the picture
Technical Safety BC recommends annual servicing of home heating appliances. A fireplace that turns on can still need cleaning or attention to its controls, seals or venting. Tell Robert when it was last serviced and whether anything has changed since you used it last season. Follow the maintenance instructions for your particular model; a quick visual check cannot replace a service visit.
Make your appointment easier to arrange
Send the fireplace make and model if you know them, your city, the problem or maintenance request, and a few visible photos. Mention a townhouse, condo or rental property, and any access arrangements. For a Vancouver apartment, ask your building manager whether servicing is being coordinated before booking separately. For a house, explain where the unit is located and whether access is restricted.
Know what you are booking
Ask what the maintenance visit covers for your appliance, whether repairs or parts are quoted separately, and what service notes you will receive. Robert can discuss the equipment and proposed work with you directly. Confirm the appointment and service availability rather than assuming that an online enquiry has booked a time. A service record helps you remember what was done and when further attention is recommended.
Keep everyday use simple
Keep furniture, curtains and stored items clear according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Check your carbon monoxide alarm using its own test and replacement instructions. Leave internal cleaning, burner adjustments and gas work to the qualified professional. If ignition becomes unreliable, the unit repeatedly shuts down or you notice soot, arrange an assessment instead of repeatedly trying to start it.
Speak directly with Robert
BeeWarm accepts fireplace maintenance enquiries for Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, the North Shore and other Lower Mainland locations. Include the full address for a Surrey, Langley or Abbotsford enquiry so availability can be confirmed. Call or text Robert on 604-765-8424, or use bee@beewarm.ca. Ask about your fireplace and preferred timing before committing to replacement equipment.
What if I smell gas?
A suspected gas leak is an emergency, not a maintenance booking. Leave the area without operating switches or creating an ignition source. Once outside, call FortisBC on 1-800-663-9911 or 911. If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get outside and call 911. Do not wait for a website or email response.
